How Medical.watch picks your weekly posts

Some of you asked how we choose the posts in your emails. Do we use an editorial team? Is there a weekly vote?

Neither. 🙂

Our algorithm selects the most popular posts based on replies, reposts, likes and views. This helps you discover what's top of mind for physicians who treat a disease.

Naturally, this approach has tradeoffs. One one hand, it's a good way to understand what's driving the online conversation in a certain tumor type. On the other hand, it tends to prioritize posts from clinicians who are optimistic about a study or approval.

So if you follow a disease, you'll see more "cheerleader" posts because your peers are excited about the news. The ones who aren't excited are usually quiet.

If you want a more balanced view, try following a therapy like ixazomib. This will give you a digest of all posts for ixazomib, so you get a complete picture.
