How to boost your content and get more followers 🔥
1. Chase replies, not likes
Replies are more valuable than likes. In Twitter's algorithm, replies are worth 13.5x more than likes and profile clicks are worth 12x more than likes. Everyone talks about likes but on Twitter, likes get no love.
2. Don't follow too many accounts
Your follower/following ratio matters. If you follow many more accounts than the ones that follow you, Twitter will demote your posts.
This is what not to do, folks!
3. No more hashtags
To maximize your reach, don't use hashtags. We love #MedTwitter as much as you do, but it’s time to say goodbye. Just use natural language like you're talking to a colleague.
4. Get your account verified
Want a cheat code? Being verified is key to growing your audience. Just pay the $7 and call it a marketing expense. This one's a no brainer. 👍
5. Be nice
Last on our list, Twitter knows if you use harsh language. Do this and your account will probably get locked. Like in Road House, remember the golden rule:
Bonus tips
Want more tips to boost your content? Check out these do's and don'ts:
Do:
Write posts about current news and trends. If you include links, make sure they're about news or media. If not, they'll get demoted for sure.
Make more videos like this one from Dr. Sumanta K. Pal at City of Hope. Twitter is starting to push videos more than ever.
Don't:
Always link out to other sites. Twitter wants to keep you on its site. 🙂
Write posts with no text (meaning only images, links or usernames). Always include text in your posts!
